We are a small, loving part of God's family. We worship Him and work with Him to extend His kingdom in this beautiful area of rural Somerset.
We hold our services in the church building and we warmly welcome everyone to come and worship with us. Please come join us! The schedule for the services is posted in forthcoming events and on the calendar. See the News section for more details.
If you live in the local area and would like us to pray for you or need someone to talk to or would like some practical help, please email:
We hope this site will give you some information about God, about us, and what we do and why we do it.
If you are in our part of the world, we hope you will come and visit us. Everyone is welcomed and we enjoy seeing new faces and visitors in our church.
Please check the calendar for the dates and events.
We are hoping to collect some festive food items to donate to the Taunton Foodbank so that individuals and families can enjoy a few treats this Christmas.
Please drop off any donations to the Baptist Church, The Willow Set Pre-School or The Village Shop on or before Sunday 3rd December.
Genesis Acaye and Benon Kayanja, Ugandan nationals, are our BMS missionary partners.
Genesis is located in Gulu, situated in the north of Uganda; Benon is based in Kampala. They both worked with Joe and Lois Ovenden, who were our previous missionary
partners, and have expanded the Ovendens’ work.
TWIGs is the parents, carers and toddlers group run by the Stoke St. Gregory Baptist Church. Normally it takes place between the hours of 0930 and 1130 every Thursday during term time in the church building. All wecome to come and share time together with the children and activities. Now into the sixth year in our community, the Open the Book (OtB) is a Bible Society project which offers primary school children an opportunity to hear key Bible stories, from a team of Christians from local churches, who present the stories during assemblies/acts of Collective Worship. Open the Book has restarted and the schedule will be posted in the Newsletter and on the website.
Occasionally we have a Café church. It is a less formal service with refreshments to be enjoyed throughout the service.
Messy Church is held on the first Sunday of the month starting with a breakfast at 1000am. It is an opportunity for people of all ages to come together to learn about God and have fun together.
After many years of a team of Church members providing lunches for the elderly every other Wednesday at the Baptist Church, we have passed the baton onto the Village Shop and Cafe. Church members continue to be actively involved as volunteers to serve our community and provide a time for people to meet and enjoy friendship and time together.
On alternate Wednesdays the Church volunteers and the Village Shop and Cafe will be offering a 2 course set lunch for only £8.50. This will consist of a main meal followed by a traditional homemade dessert. The menu will be announced a week before, so booking will be essential.
To book please telephone 01823 490602 during shop hours or call in at the shop to speak with Jo or a volunteer.
About 27 people, during the course of the year, contribute flowers for Sunday Worship and special occasions.
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
